The initial inspiration was to produce a 100% Tannat rosé. However, the high concentration of anthocyanins in the cultivar, responsible for its intense violet color, and the slow separation of the must from the skins after destemming and crushing, resulted in the wine becoming a claret, as Bourdeaux conceptualized this wine. The idea is to showcase the versatility of Tannat, which offers austere wines with personality in a variety of styles. - Douglas Chamon
